ABOUT THE ARTIST: WAYAN SARJANA Wayan Sarjana was born in a Balinese village in 1970, the eldest of three children from a family of artists. He was the first in his family to work with silver, starting his apprenticeship at age 15 under the guidance of a skilled craftsman named Nyoman Regig.

Though Regig was a strict teacher, he taught Sarjana the importance of working under pressure and tight deadlines - valuable lessons that laid the foundation for Sarjana's future success. After five years, Sarjana began crafting his own original jewelry designs, which he sold to local shops. This allowed him to save enough money to set up his own workshop at home, where he continues to work today.
