Meet the Artist: Made Wardika My name is Made Wardika, and I was born and raised in Tampaksiring, Bali. I come from a small family surrounded by farms and beautiful scenery. As the second of three children, I started working at the age of 11 to help pay for my education.

While in junior high, I became a woodcarver and continued honing that craft until I finished high school. After graduating, I learned to paint and decorate carved wood pieces, and eventually expanded my skills to carving horn, bone, and wood. At the age of 25, I got married and had two sons and a daughter. Being a father has been a journey filled with both happy and challenging moments, but I have prayed and believed that God has a wonderful plan for us.
