Novica was founded in May 1999, born from a dream to create a better world for artisans. We believe that a better world for artisans is a better world for all. Historically, most of the world's artisans have profited less than fairly. Novica works directly with artisans, eliminating the middlemen, enabling artisans to earn more and customers to pay less. Novica sells only fair trade, handmade products created by featured artisans.

Victor Yao Delanyo, born in 1966 in Ghana's Volta Region, celebrates the art of the Ewe people through an assortment of hand-carved sese wood masks. Two feature embossed brass plates resembling tribal scarifications, and two are painted by hand. The ornaments hang from leather hoops.

Delanyo completed elementary school in 1982 but could not continue his education due to financial difficulties. He joined a master carver, specializing in traditional African objects, and has been working independently for the past ten years. His works have been exhibited in the United States, Germany, Belgium, France, and Australia. Delanyo employs ten experienced carvers, acquiring sese wood for mask carving.
